About the Artist

Artist’s Statement

“I consider it an honor and a joy to study and paint the amazing beauty that God has placed in this magnificent work of art that is our world. He is the well-spring of all creativity, and since we are created in His image, we intuitively enjoy and find great satisfaction in the creative process.

Artist’s Bio

Tim Beasley earned his degree in Environmental Design from the University of Massachusetts in 1975. He was selected at the end of his junior year to be a member of the senior honor design program from which he graduated with honors.

Tim, and his wife, Valerie, have been residents of the Athens, Georgia area since 1998. Tim is currently an illustrator, designer, art director and web interface designer. He has also illustrated more than 20 book covers.

On the fine art side, Tim is primarily self-taught being an avid student of many well-known artists. He has worked mostly in pencil, acrylics, and pen and ink. He describes himself as a “recovering realist” in that his work is evolving away from realism and toward impressionism.

He uses the giclée printing method to reproduce his artwork, which many experts now consider the finest method of art reproduction available, mainly because of the very wide range and depth of color it is able to reproduce. “Giclée” is a french word which refers to the microscopic jets which spray archival quality, pigmented inks onto the canvas, watercolor paper, or other media. This method now makes it possible for fine artists, like Tim, to reproduce their works at museum quality one at a time and at very reasonable prices.
